Founded in 2008, the company is best known for Canvas, a learning management system used by schools, colleges, universities and other organizations to deliver courses, assignments, assessments and communications. Its broader product portfolio includes Mastery assessment tools, Impact technology-adoption software and Parchment credential and records services. Instructure serves more than 30 million educators and learners worldwide. The company became privately held in November 2024 after its acquisition by investment firms KKR and Dragoneer in a transaction valued at approximately $4.8 billion.
