Matagorda County

Matagorda County is the county government serving a coastal part of Texas, with its courthouse and principal offices in Bay City. Its departments and elected offices provide tax collection, public records, election administration, emergency management and other local services. A county judge and four precinct commissioners form the Commissioners Court, which sets county policy and oversees roads and bridges. The government maintains a courthouse, a separate county office building and a tax office along Seventh Street in Bay City. Its administrative work connects residents and businesses with county records, payments, permits and public information.
