Minneapolis Park Police Department

Organization overview

The Minneapolis Park Police Department is the law enforcement agency governed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board in Minnesota. Its officers patrol parklands, respond to calls for service, enforce laws and ordinances, and support park-system staff. Members serve under the superintendent of parks, whom the elected Park Commissioners appoint. The department works closely with the separate Minneapolis Police Department and shares support services while retaining its own governance. Its headquarters is at 2117 West River Road N. in Minneapolis. Officers have policing authority throughout the city and in park-board lands outside the city limits.
