Rancho Murieta Community Services District

Rancho Murieta Community Services District is an independent local government serving Rancho Murieta in eastern Sacramento County, California. Formed in 1982, it provides drinking water, wastewater treatment and reuse, storm drainage, solid waste and security services. The district draws water from the Cosumnes River and stores it in local reservoirs before treatment and distribution. Its wastewater system treats and recycles water for irrigation. An elected board sets policy and service charges for infrastructure that supports the community. Its elected board oversees these five service areas through separate budgets funded by rates, fees and taxes.
