Tangipahoa Water District

Tangipahoa Water District is a public water utility based in Hammond, Louisiana, and a component unit of Tangipahoa Parish government. The parish council created it in 1992, and its development included consolidation of existing water districts and the later addition of other water systems. It serves southern Tangipahoa Parish and parts of the parish’s northern area, with exclusions for some previously franchised territories. An eight-member board of commissioners appointed by the parish council governs the district. Its work centers on furnishing drinking water and maintaining the infrastructure and customer services needed to deliver it across its service territory.
