Tech Ord

Tech Ord is a division of AMTEC Corporation within National Defense Corporation, part of National Presto Industries, Inc. Based in Clear Lake, South Dakota, it manufactures explosive materials and components for military products and other specialized applications. Its products include detonators, lead azide, fuze components, impulse cartridges, actuators, gas generators and electric igniters. The division combines manufacturing, engineering and support operations at its South Dakota site and maintains facilities for handling and treating energetic materials. Its customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, defense contractors and international allies, with some lead-azide products also serving commercial blasting applications.
