The Town of Colebrook is the municipal government for Colebrook in Coös County, near New Hampshire’s border with Vermont and Quebec. The community serves as a commercial and service center for the state’s sparsely populated North Country. Local institutions support residents, businesses and visitors across a region known for forests, farms, rivers and outdoor recreation. Colebrook was incorporated in 1796, and agriculture and lumber were important to its early development. Its compact village center remains the civic heart of a much larger rural township.
