ElectSure system compromise disrupts Wake County poll-worker training

Wake County stopped using ElectSure's election-worker training and registration platform after learning August 7 that a hacker had obtained a vendor password with read-only access to records for about 9,000 precinct workers. The county revoked that access and moved to a replacement process, ending the affected platform's operational role; voting machines, ballots, voter-registration records and vote-counting systems were not connected or affected. No continuing registration or training disruption was found by August 30, so the incident is presumed resolved even though the investigation may continue.
