ElectSure system compromise disrupts Wake County poll-worker training
Public report preview
Wake County stopped using ElectSure’s election-worker training and registration platform after learning Aug. 7 that a hacker had obtained a vendor password. The vendor had read-only access to records for about 9,000 precinct workers, but officials had found no evidence that names, email addresses, training or assignment information were acquired. Voting machines, ballots, voter-registration records and vote-counting systems were not connected to the platform or affected.
