Jackson County is the northeasternmost county in Alabama, bordered by Tennessee to the north and Georgia to the east. Scottsboro is the county seat and largest city, and other communities include Bridgeport, Stevenson, Hollywood and Woodville. The county lies within the Tennessee River valley and includes mountainous areas, farmland, portions of Guntersville Lake and extensive protected lands.
