Location overview

Wasatch County is in north-central Utah, between the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, with its county seat in Heber City. Heber Valley and surrounding high country give the area a landscape of meadows, streams and mountain peaks. The territorial legislature created the county in 1862. Agriculture, including hay production and livestock raising, has long shaped the valley’s communities. Strawberry, Deer Creek and Jordanelle reservoirs, along with nearby mountain terrain, support fishing, boating and other outdoor recreation.
