Tarrant, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA

Tarrant is a city in east-central Jefferson County in central Alabama, within the Birmingham metropolitan area. Incorporated in 1918, it developed around manufacturing and railroad access. Its industrial history includes cast-iron pipe production and other factories associated with the Birmingham area. Alabama Highway 79 runs northeast to southwest through the city.
