Location overview
Bellflower is a city in southeastern Los Angeles County, California, within the densely settled Gateway Cities region. Residential neighborhoods and commercial corridors occupy a flat plain between the Los Angeles and San Gabriel rivers. The community developed from farmland and dairy country and took its name from the bellefleur apple once grown locally. Bellflower incorporated in 1957 as suburban growth reshaped the area after World War II. Retail, health care, light industry and employment throughout metropolitan Los Angeles support the city’s economy.
