Bridgeport is a city in coastal southwestern Connecticut and the center of the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region. It faces Long Island Sound along the state’s southern shore. Seaside Park occupies a long stretch of its waterfront, while Beardsley Park preserves an inland landscape of wooded hills, water and open space. Both parks are associated with Frederick Law Olmsted’s landscape designs.
