Boca Raton is a city on Florida’s Atlantic coast in southern Palm Beach County. Beaches, the Intracoastal Waterway, planned neighborhoods and landscaped business districts define much of its setting between Delray Beach and Deerfield Beach. The community was incorporated in 1925 and bears the strong architectural influence of planner Addison Mizner and the Florida land-boom era. Later growth brought universities, corporate campuses and extensive suburban development. Education, health care, finance, technology, tourism and professional services anchor the local economy.
