Lanham, Prince George's County, Maryland, USA

Lanham is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Prince George’s County, Maryland, northeast of Washington. It began as a small railroad settlement whose earliest houses included summer homes for Washington residents. By the late nineteenth century, the village had stores, a post office, a school and a church. Later rail and road connections brought suburban growth, and Lanham is now part of the county’s residential and commercial corridor between Washington and Baltimore.
