Scarborough is a town in Cumberland County on the southern coast of Maine, near Portland. It was incorporated in 1658. Scarborough Marsh, the state’s largest contiguous tidal marsh, is a prominent feature of its landscape. Coastal neighborhoods, beaches and commercial corridors connect the town with the Portland region.
