El Dorado Springs is a city in Cedar County in southwestern Missouri. It was founded in 1881 around a mineral spring whose waters drew visitors seeking health benefits. The spring and surrounding land became a park at the center of the original town, and hotels and bathhouses followed as the community grew. The spring basin remains in the downtown park, alongside a bandstand and other public spaces. The city lies amid the farms and small communities of the western Missouri countryside.
