Village of Valley Stream, Nassau County, New York, USA

Valley Stream is an incorporated village in Nassau County on Long Island, New York. Farms, woodlands and water-powered mills shaped its early landscape. Residential growth during the 1920s prompted residents to seek village government, and an incorporation vote passed in 1925. The former Curtiss Field site later became the setting for the Green Acres residential development.
