Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio, USA

Bowling Green is the seat and largest city of Wood County in northwestern Ohio, south of Toledo. It developed on the edge of the Great Black Swamp. Natural gas discoveries in the 1880s attracted glass manufacturers and gave the community the nickname Crystal City. Bowling Green became a city in 1901. It is home to Bowling Green State University, which began as a state normal college in 1910.
