Coweta, Wagoner County, Oklahoma, USA

Coweta is a city in southwestern Wagoner County, about 25 miles southeast of downtown Tulsa. It occupies rolling prairie near the Arkansas River, where established neighborhoods meet farmland and expanding suburban development. The community grew from a Muscogee settlement and mission established in the 19th century, and the arrival of the railroad in 1903 spurred its emergence as a commercial town. Coweta had about 11,500 residents in 2025. Manufacturing, construction, retail, education, small businesses and commuting within the Tulsa metropolitan area shape its economy today.
