Ferguson Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, USA
Municipality
Location overview

Ferguson Township is a home rule municipality in southwestern Centre County, Pennsylvania, adjoining the State College area. Formed in 1801, it was named for Thomas Ferguson, who operated a mill at Pine Grove Mills near Tussey Mountain. The township includes established neighborhoods, historic villages and extensive farmland. Pine Grove Mills remains a distinct community at the mountain’s base, while other areas connect to the State College urban region. Preserved fields and open space give much of the township a rural landscape despite its proximity to a university town.
