Media is a borough in eastern Pennsylvania and the county seat of Delaware County, located about 13 miles west of Center City Philadelphia. Founded in 1850 specifically to serve as the county seat, the borough developed around the Delaware County Courthouse and remains the administrative, judicial and civic center of the county. Despite its relatively small size, Media is a regional destination known for its walkable downtown, historic architecture, restaurants, independent businesses and cultural events, including its designation as Pennsylvania’s first Fair Trade Town. Served by SEPTA Regional Rail and trolley lines, Media combines a historic small-town character with close access to Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, making it an important governmental, commercial and cultural hub within the Delaware Valley.
