Edisto Beach is a coastal town in Colleton County, South Carolina, on a barrier island beside the Atlantic Ocean. Its shoreline lies between Jeremy Inlet and the South Edisto River inlet, with salt marshes and tidal waters behind the beach. The town developed as a small seaside retreat in the twentieth century and incorporated in 1970. It remains a residential and vacation community, with public beach access and Edisto Beach State Park nearby.
