Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina, USA

Pickens is the county seat of Pickens County, situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwestern South Carolina. Founded in 1868 and named for Revolutionary War leader Andrew Pickens, the city grew around the new county courthouse. Pickens had an estimated population of 3,188 in 2024. Table Rock State Park, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway and numerous mountain trails and waterfalls lie nearby. County government, schools, local commerce, manufacturing and outdoor tourism are important parts of the community’s economy and identity.
