Pickens County is located in northwestern South Carolina, stretching from the growing Upstate metropolitan area into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city of Pickens is the county seat, while Easley is its largest city, and the county also includes Clemson, Central, Liberty, Norris and Six Mile. Clemson University is one of the county’s largest institutions, and natural landmarks include Table Rock State Park, Lake Keowee and portions of Lake Hartwell. The county had an estimated population of 139,198 in 2025.
