Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina, USA
Municipality
Location overview
Piedmont is a census-designated community straddling Anderson and Greenville counties along the Saluda River. The river powered the textile mills around which the historic settlement developed, leaving an industrial and residential landscape on both banks. Piedmont recorded 5,411 residents in the 2020 Census. A new county riverfront park highlights the Saluda, nearby wetlands and the confluence with Big Brushy Creek as recreational and ecological assets. The community now combines its textile heritage with manufacturing, local commerce, suburban housing and access to employment across the Greenville-Anderson area.
