Powdersville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place at the northern end of Anderson County, about eight miles southwest of Greenville. Interstate 85, the Saluda River and the Pickens County line frame much of the community, while Highway 153 forms its main commercial corridor. Powdersville recorded 10,025 residents in the 2020 Census, up from 7,618 in 2010. Once predominantly agricultural, the area has experienced substantial residential and retail growth tied to the wider Greenville metropolitan area. Schools, neighborhood businesses and convenient access to Greenville, Easley and Anderson shape its present-day identity.
