Location overview

Wall is a small city in western South Dakota near the northern edge of the Badlands. Founded in 1907 with a Chicago and North Western Railroad stop, it grew amid prairie ranching and homesteading. Interstate 90 and the road into Badlands National Park now bring travelers through the community. Wall Drug, which began as a pharmacy during the Depression, became a well-known roadside attraction and helped shape the city’s visitor economy.
