Lawrenceburg is the county seat of Lawrence County in south-central Tennessee, near the Alabama border and along the U.S. 43 corridor. Shoal Creek passes the city, and David Crockett State Park lies immediately west of town around the site of Crockett’s former mills. The historic public square, Southern Gospel music heritage and nearby Amish community contribute to Lawrenceburg’s cultural identity. Lawrenceburg had an estimated population of 12,236 in 2025, about 5.2% above the 2020 estimates base. Manufacturing is central to the local economy, alongside health care, retail, education, agriculture-linked businesses and tourism.
