Nashville is Tennessee’s capital, the seat of Davidson County and the center of the state’s largest metropolitan area. The city developed along bends in the Cumberland River and now extends across a broad landscape of downtown districts, established neighborhoods and growing suburban communities. Music Row, Broadway, the Grand Ole Opry, major universities and a large museum and performing-arts community reinforce its identity as Music City.
