Adams County logo

Adams County is the county government for a southwestern Mississippi jurisdiction along the Mississippi River and the Louisiana border. Natchez is the county seat, largest community and principal center of commerce, tourism and public services. The surrounding county includes rural settlements, farms, forests and industrial sites connected to the river corridor. Adams County was established in 1799 and is among the oldest counties in Mississippi, with a history extending through the territorial and antebellum periods. Countywide institutions serve a region whose cultural identity is closely associated with Natchez, the river and the Lower Mississippi Valley.
