Door County
Organization overview

Door County is the county government serving communities on Wisconsin’s Door Peninsula and nearby islands. Its Government Center is in Sturgeon Bay, the county seat, and houses the county administrator’s office. The County Board appoints an administrator who serves as the government’s chief administrative officer. County departments provide public health and human services, emergency services, land-use planning, highway maintenance, parks and other local functions. Elected offices and court services handle records, elections and judicial administration alongside the appointed departments. The government serves permanent residents as well as the many seasonal visitors who use the county’s public facilities and services.
