Morgan County 911

Morgan County 911 is a public emergency communications agency based in Decatur, Alabama. Its legal organization, the Morgan County Emergency Management Communication District, operates a consolidated center that receives emergency and nonemergency calls and dispatches public safety responders throughout Morgan County. It supports law enforcement, fire, ambulance and rescue agencies, along with the countywide radio system. The district also provides addressing, mapping and other technical services used in public safety operations. A seven-member board appointed by county and municipal authorities governs the organization. The center maintains special-needs and storm-shelter registries and supports text-to-911 access alongside telephone calls.
