The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is the U.S. standard-setting and regulatory support organization for state and territorial insurance regulators. Although it does not directly regulate insurers, the NAIC plays a central role in coordinating state insurance oversight and maintaining shared regulatory infrastructure.
