Southeastern Oklahoma State University is a public university based in Durant, Oklahoma, with additional instructional locations in Ardmore, McAlester, Idabel, Oklahoma City and Grayson County, Texas. Founded in 1909 as a teacher-training institution, it now offers more than 60 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including programs in education, business, aviation and the liberal arts and sciences. The university reported 6,012 students enrolled in full or partial fall 2025 terms, including 3,389 undergraduates. Southeastern is part of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education and is governed by the Regional University System of Oklahoma.
