Sumner County Schools

Sumner County Schools is the public school district serving Sumner County, Tennessee, a rapidly growing county north of Nashville that extends to the Kentucky state line. Governed by the elected Sumner County Board of Education and administered by a director of schools, the district operates 53 schools and employs approximately 4,300 people to educate more than 30,000 students from prekindergarten through 12th grade. The district is responsible for public-school instruction, student transportation, facilities, technology, nutrition, special education, career and technical education, and other academic and administrative services. Sumner County Schools states that its mission is to prepare students for college and careers through quality instruction, effective use of resources, collaborative school communities and strong leadership.
