A Sept. 7 cyberattack stopped Mississippi's student financial aid office from processing applications and payments and disrupted enrollment verification uploads; MAAPP continued accepting applications and individual universities were not reported affected. The office announced normal operations and full functionality Sept. 23 while processing outstanding work. Data impact, ransomware and attribution remain unresolved.
