North Attleboro Public Schools in Massachusetts said Wednesday it is responding to unauthorized activity on its network after what the superintendent described as a cybersecurity incident over the past several days.
The Sun Chronicle reported that Superintendent John Antonucci said the district had responded ‘over the past several days’ to unauthorized activity on its network. DysruptionHub could not independently verify the reported incident Wednesday, and district officials had not publicly identified the cause, described the activity, said who was responsible, named a threat actor or said whether any data had been accessed. DysruptionHub did not receive a response to an emailed request for comment.
Officials had not publicly detailed which school operations were affected, whether classes or online systems were disrupted, or whether outside cybersecurity firms or law enforcement had been called in.
The district’s website remained online Wednesday and lists eight schools in the system, with district offices in North Attleborough. State enrollment data show the district serves 3,769 students in the 2025-26 school year.
North Attleboro Public Schools is a Bristol County K-12 district serving students across elementary, middle and high school campuses.
The incident follows other recent cyber disruptions in Massachusetts. In nearby Attleboro, a November 2025 cybersecurity incident disrupted city email and phone systems. Fall River Public Schools said in April 2025 that unauthorized access affected parts of its internal network.
District officials have not said what systems were affected or how long restoration may take.
