Bryan County is located in southern Oklahoma along the Texas border, with Durant serving as its county seat and largest city. The county includes communities along the Red River and the eastern portion of Lake Texoma, one of the region’s major recreational and water resources. Its population was estimated at 51,367 in 2025, an increase of about 11.5% from the 2020 population base. County government provides services including law enforcement, courts, elections, property assessment, road maintenance and emergency management through elected officials and administrative departments. The county is also part of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s historic and present-day jurisdictional area.
