Tarrant County is an urban county in north-central Texas and forms the western side of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area, with Fort Worth as its county seat. Its 41 incorporated areas include Fort Worth, Arlington, Grapevine, Mansfield, Bedford, Euless and numerous other suburban communities. The Trinity River and a landscape transitioning between prairie and the Cross Timbers shape the county’s natural setting. Tarrant County had an estimated population of 2,248,466 in 2025, about 6.5% above the 2020 estimates base. Aerospace and defense, aviation, logistics, manufacturing, health care, finance, retail and entertainment contribute to its diverse economy.
