Vacaville, Solano County, California, USA flag

Vacaville is a city in northern Solano County, California, between Sacramento and San Francisco. The town was laid out in 1851 on land purchased from Juan Manuel Vaca and incorporated in 1892. Ranching and farming grew into a fruit- and nut-shipping economy that supplied markets across the country. The Nut Tree began as a roadside fruit stand and became a restaurant complex and stopping place for travelers between the Bay Area and Sacramento Valley. Biotechnology and advanced manufacturing are among the industries in the city today.
