Carson City, Nevada, USA
Municipality
Location overview

Carson City is Nevada’s capital in Eagle Valley, near the eastern slopes of the Carson Range of the Sierra Nevada. Its settled valley floor gives way to mountain terrain and the Carson River corridor. The city’s western reaches extend toward Lake Tahoe, while Reno lies to the north. Carson City and the former Ormsby County consolidated into one municipal government in 1969. State government offices and the Capitol complex are prominent features of the urban center.
