Ogden stands at the foot of the Wasatch Range near the meeting of the Weber and Ogden rivers in northern Utah. Mountain trails and ski areas rise east of the city, while the Great Salt Lake and broad transportation corridors lie to the west. Ogden grew into a major transfer point after the transcontinental railroad arrived, earning the nickname Junction City and leaving a strong architectural legacy around Union Station and Historic 25th Street. The city had about 89,500 residents in 2025. Aerospace, advanced manufacturing, logistics, software, education and outdoor recreation all contribute to its modern identity.
