Akron City School District

The Akron City School District is the geographic attendance area served by Akron Public Schools, encompassing most of the City of Akron and small portions of surrounding communities in Summit County, Ohio. The district includes dozens of elementary, middle and high schools, as well as preschool and specialized education facilities serving approximately 20,000 students. While its boundaries closely follow Akron’s municipal limits, they are not identical, with some areas of the city assigned to neighboring school districts and portions of adjacent townships included within the district. The boundary defines residency for student enrollment, school assignments and district governance.
