Collin County, Texas, USA

Collin County is located in North Texas, immediately north of Dallas and within the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area. It is bordered by Grayson and Fannin counties to the north, Hunt County to the east, Rockwall and Dallas counties to the south, and Denton County to the west. McKinney is the county seat, while Plano is its largest city; substantial portions of Frisco, Dallas, Richardson, Carrollton and other municipalities also extend into the county. The southern and western portions are heavily urbanized, while the northern and eastern areas retain more farmland, small towns and developing suburban communities. The East Fork of the Trinity River and Lavon Lake are major geographic features, and principal transportation routes include U.S. highways 75 and 380, the Dallas North Tollway, the President George Bush Turnpike and State Highway 121. Collin County covers 841.26 square miles of land and had 1,064,465 residents at the 2020 census.
