San Antonio-based Wytec takes site offline after defacement

Wytec International, Inc. stated that it discovered on August 25, 2025, that a bad actor had published a defaced version of its public website at wytecintl.com. After restoring from backups, the site was defaced again, so the company took it offline and posted a temporary page while it reviews its web platform. Wytec reported no contact from the attacker and said it is unaware of a motive; it expects losses “likely to be significant,” has engaged forensic specialists, and notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The disruption also forced the cancellation of a seminar scheduled for September. The company lists its business location as San Antonio, Texas.

The Nevada-incorporated telecom technology firm designs and develops small-cell infrastructure to support 5G deployments, including its patented “LPN-16” neutral-host small cell that can serve multiple mobile operators simultaneously. Independent coverage to date mirrors the 8-K—highlighting website defacement and anticipated financial impact—with no claims of data theft or ransom demand in the filing.
