Sacramento County, California, USA

Sacramento County lies in California’s Central Valley, extending from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Its seat, Sacramento, is also the state capital. Urban and suburban communities occupy much of the north and center, while farmland, wetlands and small river towns characterize the southern Delta area. The Sacramento and American rivers meet in the city of Sacramento, and the Cosumnes River crosses the county farther south. Established in 1850, Sacramento County was one of California’s original 27 counties.
