Cyber Incident Disrupts Operations at Mt. Baker Imaging

Mt. Baker Imaging (MBI), an independent outpatient diagnostic imaging provider based in Bellingham, Washington, and its affiliated radiology group, Northwest Radiologists, are addressing a significant "computer network disruption" that began over the weekend of January 25, 2025. The organizations are collaborating with the FBI, IT staff, and third-party forensic specialists to investigate the nature and scope of the incident. While they have not officially confirmed it as a cyberattack, the involvement of law enforcement and cybersecurity forensics indicates that this is a cybersecurity event. The companies are working to maintain patient care in a secure environment, rescheduling appointments as necessary.

The disruption has impacted imaging services at multiple PeaceHealth facilities, limiting access to certain locations, including PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center. As a key medical imaging provider in Whatcom County, MBI offers essential services such as MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays across six locations. No data breaches have been confirmed, and the investigation is ongoing. Other local providers, such as Bellingham Advanced Medical Imaging, continue to operate normally, ensuring community access to imaging services.
