Location overview
New Jersey is a Mid-Atlantic state between New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Atlantic Ocean. Trenton is its capital, and Newark is its largest city. Its landscape ranges from the ridges and lakes of the northwest to the Piedmont’s cities and suburbs, the Pine Barrens and the Atlantic shore. The Delaware River and Delaware Bay form much of its western boundary. One of the original 13 states, New Jersey was the third to ratify the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
